Palmetto Genus Details

Palmetto palms are native from North Carolina to Florida. They have fanlike leaves that are 5-6' long and 7-8' across which are divided into long, narrow segments. Palmettos can easily grow to 90' tall. To celebrate Palm Sunday, the leaves are cut, dried and distributed in Christian religious services.
